Our world is amid Climate Change, as evidenced by our U. S. Southwest region being in a 22-year drought. Consequently, preserving and protecting the quantity and quality of surface and groundwater supplies is extremely critical. Growing and having access to high-quality, nutrient-dense food is essential, it is equally important to grow our produce by having a net-zero carbon impact on the environment. Reducing pollution and maintaining healthy soils help positively impact the local groundwater quality that we use to grow our crops. It is the intention of this program to provide education in areas of water and soil conservation to increase awareness of the critical state our local and regional natural resources. Through this program KCDCDC will serve as a champion in educating the community to help close the conservation knowledge gap.
